Time

The first month of 2008 is over and done with. What ever happens to time? As I get older, it seems to go faster. I can remember when I was Carl's age wanting time to SPEED UP...it went by so slowly. Now that I am a parent, it seems to just whiz by. I can remember the day Carl was born....so vividly, and that was 11 years ago. April is now almost 5...there is time gone by too quickly.

I am very proud of April. She is reading almost everything she sees. It is incredible. She even attempts words that are very hard and does a fairly good job of trying to guess what they are. We haven't spent as much time with her on reading as we did with Carl...poor April, second child syndrome. But she is really reading so well. I had a grandparent of a child in her class today ask me for tips on how to help her granddaughter read like April does. I didn't know what to say. Only God knows how she did this...to her credit, she did much of it on her own with help from her preschool teacher, Mrs. Zu. I am very proud of her.

Well, the Finleys are attempting to have family nights, spending time together. We've been putting our Netflix subscription to good use lately. Tonight we are watching The Game Plan. It looks funny. We have never seen it. We also have rented Scarlett (disk 2...watched Disk 1 the other night) and a Harry Potter movie. (Order of the Phoenix, maybe?) I haven't seen any of those.

Time to go!
