I BELIEVE GOD!

I am getting really bad about this blogging stuff...

Here it is June already. Almost half way through the month, too! Time is moving so swiftly. I can remember when I was Carl's age thinking that time moved so slowly. Now, I wish it would slow down again.

I've started a great Bible study by Beth Moore. It's entitled Believing God! Awesome! It has really made me think. It has a lot of homework, but that is actually a good thing. She has taken me all over the Bible in just two lessons and I am starting to compile a list of verses to encourage my faith. They are posted in two spots in my room. The big thing that I am trying to memorize is...

1. God is who He says He is.
2. God can do what He says He can do.
3. I am who God says I am.
4. I can do all things through Christ.
5. God's word is alive and active in me.

I BELIEVE GOD!

I think the one thing I struggle with most is that I do believe in God, but I guess I don't always *believe* Him yet. That was a big YIKES moment for me! Take Monday for instance. My friend, Vickie (who happens to also be my boss) came into my room during the kids naptime and told me that for the month of June, my hours were going to be cut back from 40 to 35 a week. After the shock hit, the first thing I thought was, "How am I going to pay for Carl's camp??" What I should have been thinking is, "God, let me see how you are going to handle this one!" But I still have that nagging habit in the back of my mind that stresses me out when I can't handle something that is out of my control. Enrollment at the daycare is not in my hands...it's in God's! SFGTD. I need to keep that SFGTD box out. (Something For God To Do in case you don't know me well) You know what....I asked for prayer about it, I prayed about it, and God brought forth $120 of the $180 we owed for camp today!! All we had to pay was $60, and I was ready to pay more that that if we needed to! Praise God for the gift for my son!

Lord, I am so sorry when I doubt that you can do it all. You are so much bigger than I can ever imagine, and nothing is impossible with You. In Mark 9:23, Christ tells us, "Everything is possible for him who believes." I need to work on trusting God to do what He says He can do. Tops on my priority lists.

So, Carl is going to Jan-Kay camp this July. I am happy for him! He really seemed to enjoy camp better last year when he wasn't "missing us" so much. He loves the swimming and the horseback riding. I cannot believe that my son has ridden a horse, and I have not. LOL! I am so happy that God helped us in this way. He is so faithful. I need to make sure that Carl sees it this way, too. I want Carl to know what a BIG GOD he serves. I want to be sure that he thanks God for the provision He has given him.
