School Days!

School has started here. Carl is now in 7th grade. Did I just say that my oldest is in Junior High? It still amazes me to this day. So far, he seems to be doing well. He rides the bus to and from school every morning. He's not in his band class yet, but should be in it next week. Tennis also starts for him next week as well. He is in all AT classes (Academically Talented) this year, and hopefully will do really well. I hope the teachers challenge him and do not just overload these AT kids with more work. Carl gets very overwhelmed with more work. Here are a couple pictures from Carl's first day of school.

April has also started Pre_K2 class at the daycare. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Zu and Mrs. Esther. She's got awesome teachers! She is writing her name and trying to read everything she sees! We can be driving in the car, and she will holler out "STOP!" and freak me out, but she is just reading a Stop sign... LOL!! We are going to start easy readers that our friend Sherry has mailed to us to help her reading skills. She has a very unique skill now, too, that she has come up with on her own... she makes envelopes! She will draw a picture, then fold it into 3rds, fold in the corners of the top third of the paper, and it looks just like an envelope! It's pretty cool for a 4 year old. It's hard to believe that in 1 year we will have 2 in school. I think she will be so excited to be in kindergarten.

Here's a recent pic of Miss April taken at the mall. I forgot to take the camera to school on her "first day"
