August is here!

I wish I was better at this blogging thing...

We have already celebrated Mark's birthday and Carl's birthday came and went already is well. I cannot believe he is 11 already. Can I really be that old? He starts Junior high in just a few weeks. I can't believe that either. School starts later this year on Aug. 27th. He enjoyed his week at Jan Kay Ranch this summer. It rained there a few days, but sounded like he enjoyed his time at the pool mostly! He is going to be inviting a few friends to go to Celebration Station with him on Aug. 11 to celebrate his birthday. He likes the gocarts, etc, so we thought it would be a fun time for Carl and a few friends. He had his annual appointment with Dr. Roland about his cholesteatoma, and it has not recurred yet (yay!) but his hearing has not improved at all since last year. Dr. Roland said we could opt to try surgery again to place the middle ear bones again, but only if Carl was up to it. If it was not bothering him, then we should let it be. I think Carl is leaning toward not having surgery, so we'll wait until it is interfering with his everyday life and grades before making a decision about surgery again.

April will be starting her Pre-K class on Aug. 27th as well. She is doing so well. She counted for one of her teachers to 100 the other day, and in the car on the way home, made it to 110, once she learned from me how to continue counting on. She loves the special days they have in the summer and her favorites are snow cone day and splash day. She is getting so tall, so smart and so pretty. I just adore her to pieces!
