I really want to know why a 4 year old needs to be worried about a boyfriend....don't they have plenty of time to have one when they are 16? Does it have to start now?
April is our artsy child. She loves to draw, color, you name it. The other day, she took 3 pictures she had drawn and colored into school. For her teachers? no... for me? no... they were for her 3 boyfriends at school. (???) And don't forget her boyfriend who is in North Carolina... LOL!!
I can't believe the word I hear from April's preschool teacher. There are so many kids that are *an item* in her class, she has had to tell them there are no boyfriends and girlfriends in her class! Kids holding hands while waiting in line....does April really like these boys because they are nice to her? Or does she really *love* them like she says?
I really think she has gotten this idea from the other girls in her class who watch Hannah Montana and other shows like that. I just don't feel that young girls need to be drawn into this so early in life. Unfortunately, these role models on Disney channel and such take such bad paths with their fame.... look at Brittany Spears and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears? I thought Jamie Lynn would learn from her sister, but obviously not.
I am glad that April isn't into the *teen* shows....she can watch all the Mickey Mouse clubhouse and Little Einsteins that she wants for as long as she wants. There is no reason to grow up sooner than she has to.
