We are SO proud in Carl!!! This year in band he has tried out for All City Band (competing only against the other middle schools in Mesquite) and he made 2nd alternate (basically came in 10th of over 50 percussionists) and just today, he went to Rockwall to try out for All Region Band. He came out of phase 1 #4 in his room, which sent him to Phase 2. He made 6th chair in the Concert Band (2nd band). This competition wasn't only against Mesquite kids...it was kids from other nearby cities as well.
What is so amazing about all of this? Carl is a 12 year old 8th grader competing against 14 year old 8th graders. Amazing.
We are so proud of him!! He was rewarded after All City tryouts with a day at Texas Motor Speedway with his Dad. He had a great time.
Way to go, Carl! Dad and I are SO proud of you!!
