As I posted in my earlier blog, April had chosen to do cheerleading for Upward. She has so much energy, we decided to put it to good work. She was given the choice to try basketball or cheerleading, so she decided to try cheerleading.
April joined a group of girls that are also in 1st and 2nd grade. They are called the Cheetah Girls! There are six girls on the squad, one coach and two asst. coaches for the team. It has been an interesting experience for her. She has never done this before, so it has been a tad challenging for her to pick up. She is doing well with the cheers. She finds out that the games are long (1 hour) and they usually cheer most of that time. They do get one period off to rest, but they cheer during the game and during the breaks between the periods. They are trying to learn a pompon routine, and that has been the challenge for her. I am very proud of her for trying. We may not do it again...that decision will be up to her, but at least she gave it a try!
I will try to get more pictures added on to this post as the season goes on.
