As my 40th year comes to a close....

I have just 2 more days to enjoy being 40.... this April Fool's baby has a big day coming up on Tuesday. Turning 40 has been very interesting.

I walked into my 40th birthday with my head held high. There was nothing wrong with turning 40....I was ready to take the bull by the horns. Actually, it's been more like a rollercoaster ride than a bull riding competition. It's had it's ups and downs. It almost reminds me of the Titan at Six Flags....Here's a description of the Titan.

"After a quick climb up the lift hill the ride starts with a stomach wrenching 255-foot drop, tied for the third tallest in the world. Even the brave will quiver to the size of this drop into a 120-foot dark tunnel far below. Thirty passengers on board one of the coaster's three trains will feel the force as the speed through at 85 mph!

As should be expected from one of the great Greek gods, Titan does not relent after the first drop. The ride continues with a series of massive drops, airtime inducing hills and a powerful g-force twister finale. In all it's 3-minutes of thrill seeker bliss!

The second half of Titan is a series of high-speed helixes that will test your strength to handle intense, powerful G-forces. Forces of up to 4.5 G's will be sustained for several seconds as the train speeds through the series of twisted helix turns. It's a fitting finale for an amazing roller coaster before pulling into brake run."

I think that describes my 40th year of life quite well. I was so ready for the ride. It was a lot of fun. I decided to finally get my foot diagnosed since I have medical insurance now. I had an extra bone in both of my feet. The one in my left foot has been causing me trouble since I was a teen....it had always been diagnosed as a sprained ankle or tendonitis, but I never knew it wasn't supposed to be there. I had surgery in November to remove the bone in my left foot. It took quite awhile to recover from that. I am only now here in March starting to be able to get back to exercising on the treadmill. 4 months...wow. My monthly cycle is all messed up, too. And just this week, to add insult to injury, I had to go to the doctor again...only to find out that my intestinal walls are not as strong as they used to be, and I am feeling a whole lot of discomfort. Premenopause could be starting....hmmm....let's see what else..... OH! I forgot about the double helix part of the ride. I have started to experience vertigo and tinnitus! I went to an ENT specialist in the same office as Carl's specialist for his cholesteatoma. My hearing test showed that my left ear has a hearing loss in the very high levels that was unexplainable and I am supposed to go in for an MRI to see if there is anything going on in my middle ear and inner ear that would explain the loss and the tinnitus. I haven't had the vertigo in awhile which is good, but the tinnitus is pretty loud at times where I cannot ignore it. I need to call the specialist office back to reschedule that MRI. How about that for a wild ride!

So, here I am ... two days away from 41. I plan on going into the next year of my life with a positive attitude. God is in control and He knows what is going on and why. That's all I need to know.

As for your ear problem, do some research on meniere's disease. My mom has it. Sounds similar to what you're experiencing...
