It's been a nice holiday. We didn't forget the real reason for the season....Jesus. Christmas isn't about all the packages and boxes and bows...it's about how God sent his Son to live and walk among us on this earth, and how he lived a sinless life, only to die on the cross for us all. So we celebrate the lowly birth of the King of kings on this day as well. Happy birthday, Jesus!
We had a white Christmas in North Texas! Oh, my. Crazy, I know! It was 72 degrees on Dec 23, then on Christmas eve....SNOW.
The kids had a wonderful Christmas. We actually had to wake April up! Usually, it's Carl that we have to wake up, but this year, he was up and ready to go. The kids got some of the gifts that they wanted from Santa, and both still have money from grandparents and aunts and uncles to fill out what they didn't get.
We spent that morning at home, the kids opened their gifts, then we packed up our stuff and headed to Houston. We had spent Christmas already with the Finley/Homuth side of the family before Christmas, so we were headed south to spend Christmas with the Herold/Olivarez side of the family. I'll have pictures of that up later once they are downloaded.
